SouthFork Lowman Days | September 4th-7th 2026

Friday  |  Saturday  |  Sunday  |  Monday

Life happens at the lodge | This is Lodge Life™

Blast from the past, Labor Day weekend at SouthFork Lodge has been a gathering place for the Lowman community and travelers passing through the Boise National Forest. Dating back to the 1950s and lasting decades, the original Lowman Days were known for long weekends filled with live music, food, laughter, and people coming together in the mountains at the edge of the Payette River. What began as a simple mountain-town tradition has inspired a new vision for the future of SouthFork Lodge.

Outdoor Concert Scene

Today, Lowman Days returns as a four-day celebration of Idaho’s outdoors, culture, food, and community. Set in the heart of the Boise National Forest, the weekend brings together live music, storytelling, educational talks, culinary demonstrations, outdoor recreation, family activities, and unforgettable meals shared around the fire. From fly fishing and rafting conversations to Dutch oven cooking, backcountry education, long-table dinners, field games, and nightly headliners, Lowman Days is designed to feel authentic, grounded, and deeply connected to the land and people that make this region special.

Whether you come for the music, the food, the river, or simply to slow down and reconnect, Lowman Days is built to bring people together in a way that feels timeless and uniquely Idaho.

Friday, Sept 4th – Kickoff Day

Lowman Days begins with a true SouthFork gathering filled with gold panning, chainsaw carving, outdoor demonstrations, and the energy of the Boise National Forest. The day leads into a community crawfish boil, fire-driven food, and a live evening headliner that sets the tone for the weekend ahead. Friday sets the tone for the weekend ahead.

Sunday, Sept 6th – River & Community Day

Sunday blends adventure and relaxation with morning yoga, fly fishing demonstrations, family games, and conversations centered around Idaho’s rivers and outdoors. As the sun sets, guests gather once again for an intimate private culinary dinner and another unforgettable evening at SouthFork.

Saturday, Sept 5th – Full Immersion Day

Start the morning with yoga in the pines before diving into a full day of demonstrations, talks, and hands-on experiences including sheep shearing, backcountry education, and classic field activities. The evening culminates with a private long-table culinary dinner, followed by live music and the SouthFork Horseshoe Classic.

Monday, Sept 7th – Last Run on the Payette

The final day of Lowman Days slows the pace with morning yoga, brunch, and one last gathering before summer fades. The weekend closes with “Last Run on the Payette,” a family-friendly Labor Day float from SouthFork Lodge to the Deadwood takeout celebrating the close of another Idaho river season.

VOLUNTEER AT LOWMAN DAYS  |  Volunteers are a huge part of what makes Lowman Days feel real.

From tending fires and helping with culinary experiences to guest hospitality, setup, activities, and keeping the grounds moving smoothly, our volunteers help shape the energy of the entire weekend.

This isn’t just event staffing—it’s being part of a community gathering rooted in Idaho, the Boise National Forest, and the spirit of SouthFork Lodge. Whether you’re helping guests find their way, supporting demonstrations, working alongside chefs, or simply keeping the firewood stacked, every role matters.

As a thank you, volunteers will receive complimentary event access during their scheduled day, meals during shifts, and the opportunity to be part of one of Idaho’s most unique Labor Day weekend experiences.
