Pet Policy at SouthFork Lodge

At SouthFork Lodge, we’re not just pet-friendly—we love our pets and know how important it is to bring them along for the adventure. Whether they’re splashing in the river, relaxing by the fire, or joining you on a hike through the Boise National Forest, your four-legged family members are always welcome here.

To help preserve the peaceful experience for all guests and ensure everyone enjoys their stay (tails and all), we ask that pets remain on a leash or in a kennel while on the property, are never left alone in guest accommodations, and are current on all vaccinations. Pet waste stations are available throughout the property—please use them to keep our grounds clean.

While pets aren't allowed in the main dining room, they are welcome to join you on the back deck, in the tavern, or in the library. And though we adore them, we kindly ask that pets stay off all beds and cabin furniture. We appreciate your help in making SouthFork a place that feels like home—for everyone.

Kids at SouthFork Lodge

(A very important set of guidelines for our smallest adventurers and their big people)

We’re thrilled to welcome kids to SouthFork Lodge — wild hearts, muddy shoes, sticky fingers and all. We don’t leash them (tempting, we know), but we do ask that grown-ups keep an eye out while they explore. Kids are curious, clever, and sometimes faster than you think, so we encourage adventure with supervision — especially near the river, fire pits, wildlife, and s’mores stations.

Safety First (Adventure Second)

  • The river is beautiful, but also powerful — no unsupervised swimming or water play.

  • Helmets are cool. Wear them when riding, biking, or doing anything you might brag about later.

  • Fires are for roasting, not racing. Keep a safe distance and always have an adult nearby.

Clean-Up Crew

  • We ask that kids (or their grown-ups) clean up after snack attacks, treasure hunts, and spontaneous stick collections.

  • Mud stays outside. Mostly.

  • Please don’t feed the wildlife. Even the squirrels have snack schedules.

Some Places Are Quieter Than Others

  • We love laughter, but Timbers Dining Room is where inside voices go to eat. The Fork patio? That’s for milkshake-fueled giggles and chicken nugget negotiations.

SouthFork was built for families to make memories. So run wild, laugh loud, and sleep hard. Just remember: shoes dry faster outside, hugs are always allowed, and a little dirt never hurt anybody.
