Overnight in the Wild: Rent the Bear Necessities

At SouthFork Lodge, we don’t just offer rooms—we offer ways to leave them.

Through our Adventure Services, guests can now rent fully equipped backcountry camping kits—a ready-to-go package designed to take your stay beyond the lodge and deeper into the Boise National Forest. Whether you're headed to a nearby campground, venturing to a secret hot spring, or hiking off the grid for the night, we’ve packed the gear so you can pack the memories.

Each kit is designed for two people and comes in two balanced backpacks:

  • Pack One: Tent or hammock tent, sleeping pads, cookware, lanterns, bear spray, and a few extra tools to keep you safe and comfortable.

  • Pack Two: Space for your personal items, food, and sleeping bags (also included).
Optional add-ons include trail maps, fire kits, extra blankets, and meal boxes from the lodge.

Camp Comfortably, Return Refreshed

You can be out as long as you’d like—or just spend the night and be back for a hot breakfast and fresh coffee at The Fork in the morning. Want to stay out longer? We’ll prepare a boxed breakfast or trailside dinner to take with you.

We’ll also walk you through weather forecasts, forest conditions, and nearby camping areas. Whether you’re hitting an established site or exploring your own patch of wild, we’ll help you do it right.

Make It an Adventure Combo

Want to go a little farther or climb a little higher? You can pair your camping kit with:

  • Mountain bikes for rugged trails

  • Side-by-sides for backroad exploring

  • Fishing gear for casting along the river

You bring the bug spray, warm clothes, towel for the hot springs, and a sense of adventure—we’ll take care of the rest.

Staying at SouthFork

At Southfork Lodge, we believe where you stay should be just as memorable as the adventure itself. Tucked deep in the heart of the Boise National Forest, our accommodations offer a range of experiences for every kind of guest—from cozy comfort to rustic immersion.

Choose from our ridge-top one- and two-bedroom cabins, where forest views meet lodge-style charm. Stay steps from the water in our Payette Flats, a row of modern, riverside rooms that let the sound of the river lull you to sleep. For those seeking a touch of wilderness with a hint of luxury, our wall tent glamping offers the best of both worlds. And for the purists, we offer primitive meadow camping under a sky full of stars.

Whether you're here for a weekend getaway, a family adventure, or a fireside reset, there’s a place for you at Southfork.
