Explore the Wild: SouthFork Side-by-Side Rentals
Polaris Adventures Elite Outfitter – Ride Beyond the Map
You don’t just drive a Polaris at SouthFork—you unlock 2.5 million acres of raw, untamed wilderness.
As an official Polaris Adventures Elite Outfitter, SouthFork Lodge offers access to the newest, top-of-the-line Polaris side-by-sides—fully equipped, expertly maintained, and ready for the terrain they were built to conquer. This isn’t a dusty rental shed on the side of the road. These are premier machines parked with purpose, front and center, because they’re not just gear—they're a gateway.

Step off the porch and into an adventure. With trails leading directly from the property into the heart of the Boise National Forest, you’ll discover alpine meadows, winding rivers, historic lookouts, and the kind of secret hot springs you won’t find on any app.

Whether you’re headed to Bear Valley to spot a herd of elk, climbing toward Pilot Peak for sweeping views, or cruising the switchbacks of Beaver Creek Summit—the journey starts at SouthFork.

Our team will walk you through maps, routes, safety tips, and snack stops. You can ride for a few hours or head out for a full-day expedition. And if you forgot something (or break something), our on-site adventure barn and convenience store, The Pit, has your back—because that’s how we keep the wild stress-free.

You didn’t come here to sit still. You came to feel the wind in your teeth, the pine in your lungs, and the trail under your tires.

Reserve early—our side-by-sides are in high demand the moment they hit the gravel. Guests ask about them daily for good reason: this is the best way to experience the wild. Period.

Gold Rush: The Morel Hunt | For those who love the fun-gi life (seasonal / spring - 3 hour rental)
Every spring, the forest floor hides its treasure: morel mushrooms—nature’s gold. This 3-hour seasonal adventure takes you deep into prime foraging territory, where finding the first cap is like striking it rich. Like secret fishing holes, the best spots are closely guarded. If you discover a honey hole, we promise to keep it hush-hush… for a modest 10% of your haul, the Morel Code. Whether you’re a seasoned forager or just curious, this is your chance to roam the Boise National Forest with purpose, curiosity, and maybe a little luck.
The Sasquatch Search: Full-Day Bigfoot Expedition | Truth is out there. So is Bigfoot. (9 hour rental)
In 1958, giant footprints were discovered near a logging camp in California, igniting the legend of Bigfoot—but sightings didn’t stop there. The creature has been whispered about in the wilds of the Boise National Forest for decades. With today’s tech and a Polaris under you, it's your turn to go searching. This 9-hour full-day adventure is your chance to become a certified forest myth-hunter. Ride deep into the backcountry, follow rumored sightings, and scan ridgelines, riversides, and forgotten trails. Bring a camera, a sense of humor, and a belief in the unexplained. SouthFork is committed to solving this mystery—any guest who returns with photographic "evidence" of the elusive legend gets an official SouthFork Sasquatch Seeker T-shirt. This ride is for skeptics, believers, and anyone who loves a damn good story.
The Idaho Outlaw Loop | Off the Grid, On the Clock (4.5 hour rental)
Many guests arrive at SouthFork Lodge after an iconic drive north on Highway 21—starting at 2,700’ in Boise, winding through the old mining town of Bannack (now Idaho City), climbing past Mores Creek Summit and Pilot Peak at 8,100’, and descending the legendary Lowman Loop into the Lodge at 3,900’. But for the bold and the curious, the challenge is this: can you do it without touching a single stretch of asphalt? Consider this your off-road mission, should you choose to accept it (cue Bond music). Adventurers who prove they made the full dirt-only run will earn a custom “Idaho Outlaw” t-shirt, have their time posted at the Lodge, and be added to our official/unofficial leaderboard of legends.
